Pre-Admission

Pre-admission is an important part of your care at Stonnington Day Surgery as it ensures we are prepared for your visit.

Please download and complete the pre-admission and registration/consent forms and email them to frontdesk@stonningtondaysurgery.com. Alternatively your surgeon may have given you the paperwork at consultation, please complete and ensure we receive it a week prior to surgery where possible.

Our staff will contact you the day prior to surgery to advise admission and fasting times as well as any out of pocket expenses.

If you are having a general anaesthetic or sedation, it is very important you have made arrangements for a family member or friend to collect you from Stonnington Day Surgery and stay with you overnight. It is preferable that the person collecting you is the person looking after you at home so the nursing staff can provide detailed education for post-operative care including medication regime.

If you develop an illness prior to surgery such as a cold or cough please contact your Doctor and the staff at Stonnington Day Surgery as soon as possible. We will need to assess whether your surgery needs to be postponed.

Health Insurance and Payments

Be sure to confirm your level of cover with your health insurance fund prior to surgery and make sure your contributions are up to date. Stonnington Day Surgery has contracts with most Health Funds. If your policy carries an excess or co-payment you will be required to pay this on the day of your admission.

If your procedure is cosmetic or you are uninsured, you will be charged a theatre fee payable on admission.

Patients covered by basic, public hospital or restricted benefits will be charged a fee on admission.

Patients injured at work will be required to submit a claim to Worksafe.

We accept cash, bank cheques, Visa, Mastercard and Eftpos.
